Professional freelancers in Syria
Looking to hire Syrian developers, designers or marketers? Mahara brings Syria's freelance talent together in one place, with the payment held in escrow until you accept the work. Hire a Syrian expert for your project, or publish your own services if you are a Syrian freelancer looking for clients abroad.
The digital scene in Syria
Syrian freelancers turned an unreliable infrastructure into a disciplined remote working style: asynchronous communication, careful written hand-offs, and deadlines met despite conditions that move. With Syrian professionals now spread across many countries, working with clients in other cultures and time zones is routine rather than novel.
Why hire a freelancer in Syria?
Hiring a Syrian freelancer means solid technical depth, native Arabic, and a work ethic shaped by circumstances that leave no room for excuses. Mahara handles the hard part, payment and trust, so you can judge the work on its merits instead of worrying about whether the money arrives.

Common questions about freelancing in Syria
How do I hire a freelancer in Syria?
Describe your project in your own words on the request page. The AI shortlists the freelancers in Syria and across the Arab world who actually fit, usually within minutes, or you can browse profiles and pick someone yourself. Every engagement is covered by escrow.
What commission does Mahara charge on projects in Syria?
A flat 7% of the project value, deducted from the freelancer's share. There is no fee to register or to publish a service, and no commission is taken on a refund.
How does a freelancer in Syria get paid?
Once you accept the delivery, Mahara releases the payout through the channel that suits the freelancer's country: a bank transfer or a supported regional channel.
Is hiring a freelancer in Syria safe?
Yes. You pay the full project value into escrow, and it is not released to the freelancer until you accept the delivery. If there is a dispute, a human mediation team reviews the evidence and decides.
